New York Local Board Ballot #34
I joined SAG in 1977 as a background actor on An Unmarried Woman, and have worked more than 110 film and TV projects since in leading, supporting and featured roles. I fought for merger and served on the SAG NY Board for three terms, helping to restore unity from coast to coast. I was on the TV/Theatrical Negotiating Committee and helped deliver the last three contracts. I also served on Low Budget and Fi-core Task Force. I believe SAG-AFTRA can and should be the shining example of the power and effectiveness of a union in making working lives better.
“John Rothman has proved his devotion to our profession and to representing actors in the fight to consolidate our union. He is an honest, straight-talking, indefatigable fighter for the rights of working actors. I have known him for over forty years and trust his integrity and his zeal. I hope you support him in his bid to represent us in New York.”
“I always prefer my SAG-AFTRA representatives to be smart and talented actors as well. John Rothman is as smart and talented as they come. And it is to our advantage to elect him to the New York Board of SAG-AFTRA.”
